Despite its name, Gun Metal has enough warmth to work well on masculine quilts, stone textures and weathered prints. I often audition it when Shadow feels too cool but the quilt isn't ready for a true brown. Compare it with German Granite for cooler palettes or Dark Brown for warmer ones.
