Lori's Quilting Shop specializes in premium thread, quilting tools, and quilting ruler storage solutions for longarm and domestic quilters. Every product is carefully selected to help quilters create beautiful projects with confidence.
I'm Lori McCluskey, a passionate Canadian quilter with over 20 years of hands-on quilting experience and the owner of Lori's Quilting Shop in Kanata, Ontario.
In 2024, I proudly took over the Glide thread distribution business from Pauline Clarke of 3 Dogs Quilting, continuing her legacy of supporting Canadian longarmers, domestic quilters, and machine embroiderers with premium Glide thread. I'm also pleased to work with Cansew as they prepare to relaunch Picasso trilobal polyester thread in Canada.
Today, Lori's Quilting Shop offers Glide and Picasso thread, Magna-Glide prewound bobbins, Canadian-made Silly Moon quilting rulers, and Hardwood Quilting Ruler Stands handcrafted in Alberta. These carefully chosen products are designed to help quilters stay organized, improve accuracy, and enjoy the quilting process.
I'm an active member of the Almonte Quilters Guild, the Kanata Quilt Guild, the Kemptville Quilters Guild, the Ottawa Modern Quilt Guild, and Canadian Quilters Association. I have volunteered with the Almonte Quilters Guild for several years. Being involved with guilds keeps me connected to new ideas, lifelong learning, and the quilting community.
In addition to supplying quilting products, I create custom memory quilts, keepsake pillows, and quilted gifts, and provide custom quilting services. I work on my domestic Bernina and hand-guided longarm, with access to a computerized longarm when a digital design is the best fit.
